CONSIDERING A NEW POOL? START HERE ↓

Most people love the idea of having a swimming pool. I mean, who wouldn't want a swimming pool right in their backyard!

If this is a decision that you are considering, there are some important things that you need to think about first.

1 / All deciding parties should be in agreement.
Doesn’t this seem like a no-brainer? Well it’s not and it is a big one! Many times we'll get calls and even get to the point of in-home consultation or property evaluation, and upon meeting, it's quite clear that both parties are, in fact, not in agreement. Making for a challenging first meeting! Often we are asked to "convince" the opposing party how much they also want a pool.

We can do a lot of things, but "convincing" an opposing spouse is not a part of our repertoire.

2 / What is most important to you about pool ownership?
Maybe physical fitness is most important to you, and you want to be able to swim laps. Perhaps you want the sound of water incorporated into your swimming pool, making a water feature a priority.

The point here is to give yourself time to create a list of priorities of what's most important to you and your family.

These priorities will help guide you in the decision-making process.

3./ What is most important to you in a pool builder?
Is price the most important consideration, or are you more interested in quality and workmanship? Do you want to be very involved in the building process, or do you just want to know when you can swim? Is having the support of a full-service pool builder who will be there after the pool is finished important, or are you okay with a company that subs out most of the work and whom you may never see again? These critical questions should be considered before inviting a pool builder representative to your home. Here at Browning, we are a third-generation full-service pool company and we strive to provide the most value for the dollars you will spend in your backyard. Quality has been our number one priority for over 80 years!

4./ Establish a realistic budget and determine available resources.

It is important to research and secure financing before requesting swimming pool quotes.

It may seem backward, but to wait until the design is completed, and the agreement signed only to find out that the financing is unavailable is extremely disappointing to all parties involved.

5./ Familiarize yourself with vinyl liner, concrete, and fiberglass swimming pools so that you can determine which is the best fit for you, your family, and your budget.
Here at Browning Pools & Spas we offer all three construction types, so there is no bias toward any particular method on our end. Our job is to help you create the outdoor space you want, whatever that may be!

If you consider and focus on these 5 points, you will get a clearer picture of your wants and needs, and find yourself more confident in the buying process.
